There were days where Jumbo Welcome was not enough to have someone join your company, team or a project!
There are days where even removing top executive is just a matter of a phone call.
While every HR executive, Business Leader and Project manager knows how difficult it is to build a team – that relentlessly works towards achieving a compelling and sustainable wins for the company, many fall short by a large margin when it comes to closing the project or letting someone or something go – gracefully!
Exiting a business, company, team, role or even a simple possession is not an easy act – even for seasoned professionals. It is mostly due to the taboo – of loss!
It is interesting to watch a few wise-men who practice the art of graceful exits – those who plan their exists in such great detail, elegance and make it look like a drama that will be cherished for life!
It seems the gracefulness is achieved with the sense that ‘exit’ leads to new beginning, a sense of accomplishment and a belongingness of future….of great new opportunities to experiment, learn and create!
But knowing when to quit, let-go or exit out of something requires design thinking, careful planning and diligent execution.
Given that no business, team or project is interested in making your exit graceful – for obvious reasons, it is up to you to ensure that you take care!
