Visualization

August 7, 2010

Visualization is the most powerful gift we have as individuals. It works for everyone – with and without eyes!

A mental image, a visual perception is always good to have when we have not faced it yet. Some may call this a dream. Some may call this imagination.

But definitely visualization, primarily a picture of tomorrow is a powerful tool as a self motivator and also a drive behind a group act.

Everyone likes a bright picture – one that is good to have. Key difference between dreamers and dreamer doers comes from the fact that one dreams and paints the picture of tomorrow – only to forget or change it the next time. Dreamer doers however keep defining more details of that compelling picture of tomorrow every day by their actions! Consistent actions by reinforcing it with positive results and refining the same with negative ones.

Surprisingly, most of these dreamer doers seem to have a single goal in life and all they do is just work on the same. Interestingly though the purpose seems to be much larger – help people have their lives! Most of them choose to teach – others to live. Means might vary. But the same end – teach people to build own lives – clock building v/s time telling.

Met ten such great souls at once. Wonderful feeling and recharging experience!

Only one common message – Visualize a better picture of tomorrow. Go and do something about it – every day – as long as you live with zero ROI expectation!

What got you here is what will get you there!

July 19, 2010

It is a real rough terrain for any young and adventurous to climb this102_2041 mountain when it is raining. But the joy of being there is unexplainable. We had heard the beauty of the trek and the sight from the top.

This time around, rain was too much. The path covered with mud, slippery rocks and leaches to scare. Most of us thought it is really foolish to climb up in that condition. After an intelligent debate, we concluded to give up and started climbing down as fast as we can…

Midway, we met an old man climbing up with real calmness and full of joy. We could not stop. We asked him, “How will you ever get there in this kind of weather, can’t you step back?”

The old man answered cheerfully, “My heart got there first, so it’s easy for the rest of me to follow.”

Social Product Innovation!

July 2, 2010

Innovation is a social necessity. Products are a means of meeting or changing a few such needs. Product Innovation is all about of making, creating and enhancing value of a product from user stand point.

In today’s truly flat world, we are witnessing quite a few rapid changes in the composition of user base, their demands and associated challenges in meeting them. Check this one for a quick insight:

Survey Report Social Product Innovation

It is evident that

  1. Over 50% of customers for a high performing product line are global!
  2. Lead time of new product release is significantly reducing (over 20%) y-o-y
  3. Over 50% of product leaders believe that Social Media can help face these challenges effectively
  4. There are quite a few hurdles to cross in order to make Social Product Innovation, a reality.

In short, it looks like time has come to democratize product innovation…. Letting customers define, build and use products – as they like, when they like and where they like!

But it is just evolving… will take its own time to mature in near future….
