Bring out that tiger!

December 28, 2010

A man walking through the forest saw a fox that had lost its legs and wondered how it lived! Then he saw a tiger come with game in its mouth. The tiger had his fill and left the rest for the fox.

The next day too God sent the tiger to feed the fox. The man began to wonder at God’s greatness and thought, “I too shall lie in a corner trusting the Lord to give me all I need.”

He did this for a month, and was almost at death’s door when he heard a Voice that said, “O you, who are on the path of error, open your eyes to the Truth! Imitate the tiger not the fox!”

For some of us, it might be the right time to take an oath to bring out that tiger within us, at least – this new year 2011!

Drop Nothing!

December 24, 2010

It is that time of the year when suddenly we look around for all those contacts – emails, addresses, phone numbers of our good old friends, colleagues, customers and loved ones! Yes! to greet and wish them for a Happy New Year!

There will be style statements, crafty messages and touching pictures to carry these well wishes. Celebration when comes naturally will have a lasting impression v/s artificial obligatory gestures!

True friends and dear ones do not need a general day for a wish. They expect that every day! What matters to them is not our intentions – but actions that show we care, we respond and we enjoy the togetherness in this journey of life! Formality should not replace the firmness of friendship or any relationship…

Disciple: I have come to you with nothing in my hands.

Master: Drop it at once!

Disciple: But how can I drop it? It is nothing.

Master: Then carry it around with you!

Your Nothing can be your most valued possession! Don’t drop it! Let it be with you in coming years too!

possessing…

November 7, 2010

You never really possess things.
You merely hold them for a while.
If you are unable to give them away, you are held by
them.

Whatever you treasure
must be held in the hollow of your hand
as water is held.

Clutch at it
and it is gone.

Appropriate it to yourself
and you soil it.
Set it free
and it is forever yours.

When millionaires die and people ask, "How much
did they leave?" the answer is of course,
"Everything."

And sometimes, "They didn’t leave it. They were
taken away from it." Hands%20Holding%20Water%20Ring[1]

When the sparrow builds its nest
in the forest
it occupies but a single branch.
When the deer slakes its thirst
at the river
it drinks no more than its belly can hold.

We collect things
because our hearts are empty!
