ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಾವ್ಯದ ಒಂದು ಸುಂದರ ರೂಪ

ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಪರಂಪರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಷಟ್ಪದಿಗೆ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಸ್ಥಾನವಿದೆ. ಆರು ಸಾಲುಗಳ ಈ ಕಾವ್ಯರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನೂ ಹೇಳಬಹುದು, ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅರಳಿಸಬಹುದು, ತತ್ವವನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಸಬಹುದು.

ರಗಳೆ, ವಚನ, ತ್ರಿಪದಿಗಳಂತಹ ಹಲವು ಕಾವ್ಯರೂಪಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಷಟ್ಪದಿ ತನ್ನದೇ ಆದ ಲಯ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಸೊಗಸನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಕುಮಾರವ್ಯಾಸನಂತಹ ಮಹಾನ್ ಕವಿಗಳು ಈ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ಜನಮನಕ್ಕೆ ಹತ್ತಿರವಾಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
