Suspicion

When suspicion casts its shadowed guise,
We find ourselves in thorny ties,
Amongst the snakes with venom’s sting,
A garden where no joy can spring.

But if we choose a loving hand,
To touch the hearts across the land,
We might just find the roses bloom,
With fragrant joy, dispelling gloom.
