Journey

September 1, 2024
She stays behind, yet always leads,
A turtle whose shell holds all she needs.
Where she stands, a home is made,
Neither behind nor ahead—simply unafraid.

In step with time, with grace she moves,
In harmony with all, her quiet groove.
Walking this path, to be with you,
The journey of my life, guided by you.

Mother

July 8, 2024
She has no mind that’s hers alone,
Works with the thoughts the people own.

Good to the kind and to the flawed,
True goodness in her heart is awed.

Trusts those faithful, trusts those not,
True trust is what she’s always sought.

Her mind, like space, vast and clear,
Misunderstood, yet ever near.

In her wisdom, all confide,
She is understanding, far and wide.
