In humble grace, the monk did shave, Renouncing all, his path he gave. Yet now, with cap, he walks the way, A symbol of both night and day. Before you yield your freedom's flight, Ask deep within, are you prepared to ignite? Whether a plumber or a bard, Embrace your role, let it not be marred. ಕಣ್ಣ ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಕೈಯ ಮುಗಿದು ನಿಂತ ಅಮ್ಮನ ಕಂಡು ನಾನು ಸೆರಗ ಹಿಡಿದು ಬಗ್ಗಿ ನೋಡಿದೆ ತಿಂಡಿ ಬಟ್ಟಲ ನಡುವೆ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹೊಳಪ ಕಂಡಿಹೆ ಅದೇನು ನಡೆದಿಹುದೊ ನಾನಂತೂ ಅರಿಯೆ ಎರಡು ದಿನದಿಂದ ಮನೆ ತುಂಬಿದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಮಿಣಮಿಣ ರಂಗಿನ ರಾಶಿಯದು ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಅದು ಮುಟ್ಟದಿರು ಇದನು ಎಳೆಯದಿರು ಎಂಬ ತಾಕೀತುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮುಖದಲದುವೆ ನಗೆಯ ಹೊನಲು ಸಡಗರದ ಓಟದೊಡನೆ ಗಮಗಮ ಪರಿಮಳ ಅಜ್ಜಿಯ ಕಿವಿಯಲಿ ಕೇಳಿದೆ ಇದೇನಿದು ವಿಶೇಷ ನಸುನಗೆಯ ಮುದದಲೆಂದಳು ಅವ ಬರುವನೆಂದು ಒಂದು ಗಳಿಗೆಯ ಅವನ ಬರುವಿಗೆ ಇದಷ್ಟಾದರೆ ನಮ್ಮೊಡನೆ ಅವನ ಸೇರಿಸಿಡಲು ಸಂತಸಕಾವ ಬರ ನಗುತಾ ಚಿವುಟಿದಳು ಕಣ್ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕನಸಕಾಣೆಂದು ಮರೆತೆನೇಕೋ ಈ ಮುತ್ತನು ಹಲವು ದಶಕ
