Working Smarter… not harder!

Eagerness to know things first hand, is a motivation for some of us. Flying on the surface of work and not touching it or not even being touched by it is a tough one for me to comprehend. We have all seen some super successful people who seem to sail through everything they face. They also seem to change jobs, job profiles and even work focus so dynamically, without leaving any trace of the past hitting them. They seem to enjoy every bit of work they do. But at the same time, carry no residue further.

Big World of Small Enterprises

While I always focused on sustainable businesses, scale and profitable growth as a mechanism and businesses as extension of individuals, this year I spent quite sometime talking to and learning from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and Community based organizations. Very interesting and insightful experience.

Practicing Humility

These are the few ways we can practice humility:

  1. To speak as little as possible of one’s self.
  2. To mind one’s own business.
  3. Not to want to manage other people’s affairs.
  4. To avoid curiosity.
  5. To accept contradictions and correction cheerfully.
  6. To pass over the mistakes of others.
  7. To accept insults and injuries.
  8. To accept being slighted, forgotten and disliked.
  9. To be kind and gentle even under provocation.
  10. Never to stand on one’s dignity.
  11. To choose always the hardest.
