Obsolescence – Find & Replace!
Conventional Wisdom:
Obsolescence is inevitable for a number of reasons. Product lifecycles of components are much shorter than the products in which they are used. This is especially true for long-lifecycle or complex products such as automotive, medical, aerospace, or telecommunications equipment that use once-current, but now-outdated, components.
Obsolescence Management solves some of the problems associated with sustainability.
Now, a small exercise…
In the above wisdom, Find & Replace “product” with “company”, “component” with “yourself”; “complex” with “people based industry = IT/ITES”! and “automotive,…. equipment” with company names you like!
=> scary?
If so,
Replace “Obsolescence Management” with “Self renewal”
=> stay current, be relevant and fight obsolescence!

Anyone can do that…
Yes. That’s the first, if not the concluding expression – whenever we notice something we believe is very simple, – being showcased as truly remarkable. The difference is that – he has done it!
“In every work of genius we recognize our own rejected thoughts: they come to us with a certain alienated majesty.
Great works of art have no more affecting lesson than this. They teach us to abide by our spontaneous impression with good-humored inflexibility then most when the whole cry of voices is on the other side. Else, tomorrow a stranger will say with masterly good sense precisely what we have thought and felt all the time, and we shall be forced to take with shame our own opinion from another.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
