Wild thoughts soar like birds,
And run like deer so free;
Not ours to cage or claim,
But to let them simply be.
In the mind, they dance unseen,
Unlabeled, wild, and true;
No law can bind their flight,
No chains can hold their hue.
Think what your heart desires,
In shadows of the mind;
But know the weight of steps,
On paths that actions find.
We endlessly seek the unknown,
Craving the thrill of the new,
To yearn for what we hold is rare,
But one quest remains ever true.
For even when we claim it’s found,
This treasure eludes our grasp,
The eternal search for truth persists,
A journey that will ever last.
When suspicion casts its shadowed guise,
We find ourselves in thorny ties,
Amongst the snakes with venom’s sting,
A garden where no joy can spring.
But if we choose a loving hand,
To touch the hearts across the land,
We might just find the roses bloom,
With fragrant joy, dispelling gloom.
