Master

Rooted, easy to nourish,
Recent, simple to correct.
Brittle breaks at slightest touch,
Small things scatter, unchecked.

Preventing trouble before it starts,
Ordering chaos before it appears.
A giant pine from a sprout does grow,
A thousand miles begin right here.

Rushing, you falter,
Grasping, you lose.
Force spoils the near-complete,
Letting be is the wiser muse.

The Master acts by not acting,
Calm in beginning and end.
Owning nothing, nothing to lose,
Desireless, his wishes transcend.

He learns by unlearning,
Reminds of true being within.
Caring not for the world,
Thus, for everything, his care extends.

Forward

Act without doing, work with ease,
Small as large, few as many sees.
Face the tough when it’s still light,
Greatness grows from acts done right.

The Master seeks not the grand, yet shines,
In hardship, she pauses, her spirit aligns.
Comfort forsaken, problems dissolve,
In simplicity, her peace evolves.

Life’s a journey, a path to pursue,
Fear not the road, it’s made for you.
Forward you go, forever true.

Worth wanting

In life, seek the gentle grace of dawn,
A heart that loves, and sings its own song.
Moments where laughter lights the way,
And peace that comes at close of day.

Friendships that grow, and dreams that soar,
Kindness given, and wanting more.
Time with those who make hearts full,
And the beauty found in the simple.
